Finding a Sex Coaching Service 101

If you work long enough in the sex industry, at some point you do hit the wall and start to realize that you can’t do everything on your own. Maybe the tasks are piling up and you need an assistant to help you with uploads and other admin work. Maybe you’ve hit a plateau in your career and don’t know what to do next or maybe your mental health is suffering and you don’t know who to turn to.

Today we are going to talk all about sex work coaching. It is not uncommon for online sex workers to look for coaches in order to improve their performance, generate new ideas or get help in growing their empire.

First, why would you even need a coach? Here’s some reasons you’d want to hire one.

  1. You’ve plateaued in your business and don’t know what the next step should be.

  2. You want to grow your business and need an outside look from someone more experienced and knowledgeable.

  3. You’ve encountered a very specific problem and want help with it.

  4. You want to know if you’re on the right track.

But where do you even start looking for coaching? It’s not like there is some kind of list online to pick from.

And there are quite a few creators out there, posing as coaches and either selling some kind of e-book to you or offering you to sign up to a site under their referral link. After that, some of them just disappear, while others simply provide you with information that you could have looked up online yourself.

When I first realized that I needed help with my business, I had discovered the now retired sex work coach Amberly Rothfield. Who was full of wisdom to give to me when I felt stuck and didn’t know what to do next.

Amberly’s seminars, videos and books truly kept me going for miles and miles ahead. I was constantly inspired, and the information was always offered in concise and digestible chunks.

If you haven’t read Amberly Rothfield’s books - ‘How I Made $10,000 A Month As A Phone Sex Operator’ and ‘90 Days and Paid: Jump Start Your Online Sex Work Business’, I highly encourage you to do so.

They will get you inspired and guide you through the hardest challenges of running your online sex work business. For example, you’ll learn to analyze where your time goes, find your niches, set goals, build your own website and more.

Thanks to Amberly, I created my own blog for Alison Sparks, dipped my feet into the world of phone sex and narrowed down my video niches to what really works for me.

Unfortunately, Amberly retired and now the sex work industry doesn’t feel quite the same. However, there’s other coaches out there! So, how do you find one that you need?

Here’s a checklist of things to consider when picking a coach.

  1. Their expertise. Are they knowledgeable in the area you are trying to tackle? Do they use the same sites as you do? Just because someone is an expert on webcam shows, doesn’t mean they will be just as skilled in the field of phone sex, and the other way around. Different online sex workers focus on different areas of it.

  2. How long they have been in the industry. With the constant changes our industry experiences, you want someone who has seen at least a part of them. Ideally, I’d recommend picking someone who has at least 5 years of experience in the adult industry.

  3. Their pricing. Can you afford it? Does it seem fair in relation to what they are offering?

  4. Reviews from previous ‘students’. It is also important to see what other coaching students or clients think about this person.

  5. Other credentials. Have they published a book? Have they received any awards for the work that they do? While this is not mandatory, it can definitely be a good thing.

Now that you know what to look for, where do you even find it? There are several ways to go about this. First of all, ask your online sex worker friends if they know someone and/or have worked with them.

If that doesn’t get you any results, you can ask wider communities, such as people on XBIZ, Wecamgirls, Ambercutie, Twitter, suitable Reddit forums and so on.

Besides that, I have two more recommendations of knowledgeable people in the industry whose teachings might help you.

First is Nikki Night. She is a cam girl herself, and has worked for several adult sites as a coach, such as Cam4 and VXPages. Now she does personal 1 on 1 coaching, starting from $75 per hour. Nikki mainly focuses on camming, but she is a great coach as I can testify myself.

Second person that deserves an honorable mention is MelRose Michaels. Although she doesn’t do 1 on 1 coaching at the moment, she has a podcast called On The Whorizon and is creating paid and free resources for online sex workers regularly.

But what if you don’t have any spare money to hire an online sex worker coach? There are still plenty of ways to gather useful information for your business.

For example, you can search on YouTube ‘cam girl tips’ or ‘cam girl advice’ and find some useful content. One Youtuber that I would recommend specifically is Noah Bensi with her series on camming.

Besides Youtube videos, you can always ask questions on Wecamgirls or XBIZ forums, as well as the subreddit r/CamGirlProblems . And, if working on your sex work business seems too daunting to do it alone, you can always make an accountability group with your online friends like I did.

Every Thursday, we check in on each other and see how productive we have been the week before. Then we review our to do lists and share what we plan to do in the upcoming week.

The community is always there for you to help. Sex work can feel like a lonely journey, but it doesn’t have to be. If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it. And, if you don’t have any consistent sex work friends yet, you’re always free to message me! Best of luck in your sex work journey!
